Cascadia Developer Happy Hour
CascadiaJS and PuPPy are teaming up to host a happy hour for developers to celebrate Seattle Startup Week! Don't feel like you have to be a front-end React developer or a big data Python engineer to attend this event. This is an inclusive and friendly networking event for ALL developers.

The event is being hosted at Thinkspace Seattle, located on the Lake Union waterfront. Enjoy drinks, food and good conversation with your fellow hackers courtesy of CascadiaJS and PuPPy.

CascadiaJS - We are a conference for web developers here in the Pacific Northwest taking place Nov 15-16. The conference features 24 talks over the course of 2 days that focus on the cutting edge of JavaScript, Node, web development and engineering culture. We expect to host 500+ developers from all over the PacNW. In addition to the conference, the week of CascadiaJS will feature networking mixers for junior devs, React training workshops and much more!

PuPPy - We are a fun and friendly user group dedicated to proliferating a diverse and talented Python community in the Puget Sound region. We are devoted to exploring Python-based programming knowledge, embracing new and experienced members from all walks of life, and helping those members to achieve their professional goals.

How to build your hardware startup
Limited Capacity full

While there seem to be a million resources online about starting a startup, there are very few places to find good information about starting a *hardware* startup.

In honor of Seattle Startup Week, we have some amazing guests who going to share the stories of the hustle and tears that they put into building hardware startups in Seattle.

SPEAKERS:

Christina Cyr - Co-Founder, CTO & CEO - dToor

dTOOR makes “Non-Rectangular Phones for Non-Rectangular People” starting with a phone in the shape of a circle, called The Cyrcle Phone. dTOOR had a successful Kickstarter campaign in September 2016 with a 2G prototype of The Cyrcle Phone, and delivered all rewards (phones, classes, t-shirts, etc.) to backers within 60 days. Christina has degrees in biochemistry and physics, a master’s in engineering, and an unrelenting passion for electronics.

Filipp Shpomer - Co-Founder and CTO - Strive Tech

Filipp's biggest interests have always been physics and computer science. After a few years in industrial automation and many years as a software engineer at Microsoft, he returned to the world of electronics by cofounding athletic wearable company Strive Tech, where his role is to design and build the electronics that collects biosensor information about the athlete.
