Michael B. Pomfret, Ph.D., is the Managing Director of the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds. Dr. Pomfret is an accomplished Ph.D. scientist with varied laboratory and management experience in academic, national, and industry labs. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Dr. Pomfret began his career at the Naval Research Laboratory where he was a successful principle investigator of multiple alternative energy research programs. Prior to joining UW, Dr. Pomfret served as the Chief Materials Chemist and primary laboratory manager at Lab/Cor Materials, an all-purpose, materials characterization laboratory and Chief Technical Officer at Botanic Air Corporation, an early-stage start-up, directing all research and development efforts to improve indoor air quality through actively catalyzed oxidation. Dr. Pomfret’s accomplishments include 20 peer-reviewed research papers and directing significant growth at small scientific companies.
