Torben Nielsen is Vice President of Innovation and Strategic Investments for Premera Blue Cross.  In this role, he oversees innovation initiatives and processes and strategic investments in early to mid-stage startups.  
Torben joined Premera in 2017 from HealthSparq; a $25M startup he founded and spun-out of Cambia Health Solutions in 2012. Prior to HealthSparq, Torben led the digital solutions team for Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield from 2006-2012.
Torben Nielsen brings 15+ years of broad business experience from start-ups to corporate brand names such as LEGO and Xerox. He has been overseeing and driving innovative digital healthcare solutions for the past 10 years. His work and leadership has been recognized in case studies and reports by leading research institutions including Forrester Research, PwC and the Advisory Board.
